RTX 4070 Level AMD “Strix Halo” APU’s iGPU Sporting 40 Compute Units To Launch Second Half 2024

Most powerful AMD Zen5 APU with codename Strix Halo which promises to defeat RTX 4070 desktop graphics will likely launch this year around summer’s end. According to AMD’s first quarterly report, Strix Point APU lineup will be released in second half 2024.

Specifically, AMD aims to replace current gen Ryzen 7000 mobile APUs with more advanced tech featuring AI enhancements that compete with Intel Core Ultra series. Early this year, famous tech industry enthusiast Moore’s Law Is Dead, had valuable information about most powerful specs of Highest SKU’s APU named Strix Halo, it features 40 CUs (Compute Units) for integrated graphics which is unbelievably equivalent to desktop RTX 4070 variant.

Furthermore, Strix Halo consists of four distinct Zen5 APU variants sporting with RDNA3.5 graphics architecture. High SKUs are 16, 12 and 8 Core Processors with powerful iGPU of 40 CUs competing against RTX 4070. Mid-range 12 and 8 Zen5 Core based APUs are paired with 32 CUs based iGPU with RTX 4060 alike performance. Mainstream-level 8 and 6 Zen5 Core APUs packed with 24 RDNA3.5 CUs trading blows against RTX 4050. Lastly, Strix Halo (LP) APU version with 8 and 6 Zen5 Core take only 20 RDNA3.5 CUs at RTX 3050 performance level.

Laptop and mini-PC users might see the future of gaming experience and AI development earlier than desktop enthusiasts because AMD provides fastest APU variants for mobile computers rather than desktop ones as previously seen with mobile Ryzen 6000 and 7000 APU lineup came first then Ryzen 8000 desktop APUs followed.

Are you ready to witness AMD outperforming mid-range desktop GPUs including their own RX 7600?!
